In 1985 the practice was founded by local man
Cecil Dickson, with the aim of providing a range of accounting services
with a friendly, professional approach, on a one to one basis and
at a reasonable cost. Today the practice is one of the oldest surviving
firms of reputable accountants in Armagh city.
Cecil Dickson - Founder
After university Cecil joined a local firm of accountants
in Armagh, where he gained thirteen years of practical experience
working with small and medium sized businesses. This experience went
right from original records through to final account production and
tax calculations in a management capacity, including dealing with
enquiries from a broad spectrum of clients based in the North and
South of Ireland, and their relevant bodies of authority.
During this time Cecil joined the institute of Chartered
Certified Accountants, and became a qualified financial accountant
with the Institution of Financial Accountants and also a fellow of
the Institute of the Association of International Accountants.
Wanting to stay in Armagh with
his wife and small family, Cecil found that there was an opportunity
to provide an accountancy service on a one to one basis at a very
reasonable cost. And with this, he founded the practice in 1985.
Since then Cecil has continued to grow and develop
the practice. By joining the Sage education training programme &
regularly attending training progammes aimed at Cecil's field of expertise,
he has been able to keep abreast of developments in the sector. In
addition Cecil has expanded his professional associations by being
awarded membership of the Federation of Tax Advisers in 2005, which
has allowed him to gain access to a wealth of knowledge and case studies,
enabling the practice to adapt to the ever changing needs of the community.
